My wife, Diana, and I are both retired military and have been living in Washington since 2015.
After retiring from the Army in 2003, I followed Diana to her duty assignments for the next 12 years until she retired from the Navy in 2015. Between 2003 and 2015, I functioned as a contractor supporting our military here in the U.S. and overseas in Kuwait, Afghanistan, and even did a summer tour in Antarctica.
After 2015, we decided to retire in Washington because the Pacific Northwest is one of the most beautiful areas in the United States and as a bonus has no state income tax.
Washington has more than its fair share of rain, but it does not stop us from enjoying outdoor recreation like camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, and scenic drives. There is so much to do here in Washington which makes it a wonderful place to live in.
In the last couple of years, as with other communities, we are experiencing high inflation, high fuel cost, high food prices, and increasing violent crime. Washington State needs new leadership to reduce problems affecting citizens, provide more opportunities and better protect the citizens.
